A gray brick pyramid morphs to a colorful cube. Learn how the morphing animation was prepared.
What's a Pyramid?
A pyramid is a polyhedron with four triangular faces which share one vertex. The base of a square pyramid is a square with four edges. Four triangular faces rise from the base and join at the shared vertex.
Uses
In Egypt huge ancient pyramid shaped structures were prepared for significant people when they passed away.
How was 3D Transformation Implemented?
The original animation was created with WebGL mix functions. Both vertex and texel coordinates gradually change from the pyramid morph target to the cube morph target and the pyramid's texel coordinates to the cube's texel coordinates.
The pyramid applies only one vertex buffer object and one texture. One vertex buffer object speeds GPU processing. One texture speeds download time.
Frames from screen shots were composed in After Effects to prepare this animation.
