Animation
Explosion animation grows brigher as it expands.
This explosion visual effect was created with the 3ds Max fire effect and HTML5 global composition.
Individual explosion graphics were created with the 3ds Max Fire Effect
then combined into one explosion sprite sheet with Photoshop.
The sprite sheet was rendered with HTML5 and the lighter
global composite operation.
The lighter
value adds brightness as the explosion expands,
drawing one frame over the other.

Later I combined screen shots from the HTML5 animation to create this video. The center of the explosion animation is brighter than the sprite sheet explosion, below. Global composition makes overlapping pixels brigher.
