Red-figure vase painting developed in Athens around 520 BC and remained in use until the late 3rd century BC.

Seven Thunder Software prepared the red figure greek vase to render interactively with WebGL. Use the search icon above to find the interactive Greek Vase. Swipe to rotate and move the WebGL vase.

The WebGL vase renders with GLSL shader highlighting. Shaders process glints of color and highlights as the vase turns. You can see the highlights in this animation.

The 3D modeled red figure vase was prepared with the minimum number of vertices, for online display. The fewer the vertices the faster the Web page downloads and initializes.

A set of screen captures from the interactive 3D Red Figure Greek Vase, along with After Effects and music helped create the final animation.
