Golden Cup of Abominations

A gold cup, modeled from photos of antique cups, rotates and spills smoke with fire. The animated golden cup full of abominations, represents Revelation chapter seventeen.
The cup was modeled with 3ds Max after photographs of cups from 100 AD. In 3ds Max the cup was mapped with a gold reflective material, shiny highlights and a leaf like bump decal. Creation of visual effects involved adding two fire effects. During animation fire effect parameters change, including flame detail, phase and flame color.
Animation Inspiration
The woman was dressed in purple and scarlet, and was glittering with gold, precious stones and pearls. She held a golden cup in her hand, filled with abominable things and the filth of her adulteries (Revelation 17:4 KJV).
